Male & Female Flanges

Male & Female Flange Jis 16k is a type of flange that must be matched to each other. In this combinations, one flange face has an area that extends beyond the normal flange face. This flange is referred to as the Male. On the other hand the mating flange or the other flange will have a matching depression machined into its face. This mating flange is referred to as the Female flange

Custom Male & Female Flange Jis 5k facings are commonly found on the heat exchanger shell to channel as well as cover flanges. In the Male & Female Flange Jis 10k , the female face is about 3/16” deep, whereas the male face is about ¼” in its height. Both, the  Male & Female Flange Din En 1092-1 are smooth finished. The outer diameter of the female face in the Male & Female Flange Asme B16.5 Class 300 acts as a guide and aids in locating as well as retaining the gasket.
